There comes a time that every child enters adulthood. Adulthood is full of new challenges, new people, new situations, and many new learning experiences. Solstice Behavioral Health & Consulting believes in preparing your child with the life skills necessary for a successful transition. With multiple resources, extracurricular activities, and experienced Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapists and specialists, Solstice is the best place to start the learning process.

Early Diagnosis and Intervention

The main goal in preparing a child with autism for adulthood is to have them be as independent as possible. Together with the Solstice team, parents & families can support the child to develop & enhance communication skills, relationship building, cognitive skills, and emotional intelligence. By strengthening these skills, your child will have the tools to face real-life situations with minimal intervention or assistance.

It is imperative that your child receive help as early in their development as possible. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) can be detected as early as 18 months old. However, many children don’t receive a final diagnosis until they are much older and a specialist has been able to monitor their progress. Some people are not diagnosed until they are teens or adults and miss the opportunity for the extra assistance they need.

Our team wants to make sure that children who need the assistance of a dedicated support team receive help as early as possible. It is our experience that early intervention can help a child learn to process their environment and better understand their own thoughts and feelings by using the lessons that are taught in our office and reinforced by their family at home.

Goals & Progress

Setting realistic goals with your child’s teacher & an ABA therapy specialist is the best way to track skill development progress. With the initial assessment & ongoing developmental screening, the entire support group can work together to assist your child in reaching their developmental goals.

Independence Preparation

Home-based Services

  • Home appointments. The Solstice team is available to deliver individualized ABA therapy to children and families in the home setting with our Home-based Services. Our ambition is to empower parents and caregivers to implement treatment within their everyday environment where the learned skills are to ultimately be demonstrated. Children with autism struggle with the generalization of skills into the applied setting and, at times, will require intensive treatment across various settings.

  • Telehealth. Telehealth appointments have also made receiving care and resources accessible to families from the comfort of their homes. If you or your child has difficulty participating in in-person sessions and events, our dedicated team can design and implement a remote treatment plan that you can access securely on your laptop or mobile device. With the support of our experienced team, we can build an incredible experience where we can model, coach, and provide feedback in real-time using video sessions and digital resources.

Center-based Services

  • PEAK. Partnering to Educate and Advance Kids (PEAK) is our afterschool program for school-aged children diagnosed with autism. Our team of ABA experts will design an individualized program with a heavy emphasis on increasing independence and targeting all areas of development including communication, social, behavioral, daily living skills, socialization, and cognitive skills.  Treatment is delivered by our Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) and overseen by our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA). Solstice Behavioral Health & Consulting strives to make the greatest impact in key areas of development and provide rich learning opportunities so that our learners can reach their full potential.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of autism, Dr. Solandy Forte and our team of experts can help you and your child navigate the ASD diagnosis.
